SSG US Army - Afghanistan 1 tour, Iraq 2 tours - Bco 1-24 IN BN
May 29, 1983 – January 20, 2026
He served twelve years in the United States Army (2005–2017) as a Mortarman, forged in some of the most demanding environments on earth. From the frozen extremes of the Alaska Arctic Wolves Program to the dense jungles of the Philippines—where he trained alongside the Philippine Army—he became a warrior capable of operating in any terrain, under any conditions.
Mike deployed twice to Iraq with the 4th Infantry Division and the 1st Cavalry Division, and once to Afghanistan with the 25th Infantry Division with Bco 1-24 IN BN. By his third combat tour, he had earned the rank of Staff Sergeant—trusted not just to fight, but to lead men through chaos with clarity, courage, and conviction.
His leadership was proven where it matters most: in combat. Decorated for his performance and respected by those he led, Mike’s proudest achievement wasn’t a medal—it was bringing every one of his soldiers home alive from Combat Outpost Baylough.
Service didn’t end when he took off the uniform. He continued answering the call through the National Reserve and with Cal Fire Emergency Operations, standing on the front lines once again—this time protecting communities at home.
Mike is the embodiment of selfless service, unwavering leadership, and the kind of man others trust with their lives.
