Carlos Mazon

Carlos Mazon lived a life marked by service, quiet strength, and an uncommon depth of compassion. A graduate of Air Force Academy High School, he chose early to stand in the gap for others, answering the call to serve his country as a Master-at-Arms Seaman in the United States Navy. While stationed in Bahrain, Carlos tragically died by suicide at just 19 years old.

An Eagle Scout from Boy Scout Troop #42, Carlos embodied the values of loyalty, courage, and selfless service. He didn’t just believe in helping others—he lived it daily. Whether it was rescuing stray dogs and reuniting them with their families or showing up for a friend in crisis, Carlos gave of himself without hesitation and without expectation.

He had a natural way with people—especially children—who were drawn to his warmth, humor, and genuine presence. He made others feel safe, seen, and valued. Friends remember him as someone who stepped in when it mattered most—offering guidance, standing firm in difficult moments, and bringing light into the darkest places.

Carlos carried a gentle strength—a heart that felt deeply and a spirit that gave endlessly.

He is one of the 22 a day.
But to those who knew him, he was so much more than a statistic.

Today, we honor Carlos Mazon not only for his service to this nation, but for the life he lived and the love he gave so freely. His legacy calls us to look closer, reach farther, and stand beside those who may be hurting in silence.
