Jon Avery
Combat Marine – Law Enforcement
Florida
Combat Marine, Law Enforcement Officer, and Trauma Recovery Advocate
Jon Avery brings the heart of a warrior and the strength of a survivor to the Healing the Hero community. With over ten years of honorable service in the Marine Corps Infantry-0311, followed by time as a police officer in Polk County, FL and a K9 handler in executive protection, Jon spent years protecting others—while silently battling demons of his own.
In 2021, Jon made a courageous decision: to confront the darkness and reclaim his life. After decades of carrying invisible wounds, he stepped into the healing journey and never looked back. Through the breakthrough tools and powerful support from Dan and the Healing the Hero team, Jon achieved what once seemed impossible—he’s now four years sober and thriving.
Jon’s transformation is more than a personal victory—it’s a message of hope for others still in the fight. Today, he uses his story to inspire and empower fellow veterans and first responders to believe that healing isn’t just possible—it’s waiting for them.
